Finnish Spring is spoiling us with excellent weather. 53 participants and 10 volunteers could enjoy their Saturday morning dosage of parkrun atmosphere is perfect conditions. Warm, sunny, gentle breeze, can't get better than that.
Thank You to all the volunteers this week. You are the backbone of parkrun events.
We had a good number of visitors coming again this week. From Ireland we had half-a-dozen visitors with family. Visitor from Estonia who was in a hurry on the route and also after the run to catch the train to Helsinki and ferry. Hope you made it! We are also enjoying the visitors coming from Turku but it would definitely be a time to have an event there as well. And a parkrun wouldn't be a parkrun without few English friends too. It was great to meet you all!
To our regular participant Tobias we bid farewell. He is now moving back home after a while in Tampere. It has been a pleasure meeting you and all the best to your future endeavors and parkruns!
Several congratulations are also in order for few Tiilikka family members. Julia joined Joonas in the 10 parkrun junior club. Jarmo and Juha were on a bit longer route while they participated in Karhunkierros NUTS. Congratulations!
Finally few reminders:
- parkrun founder Paul Sinton-Hewitt is visiting us tomorrow on the 27th May (Monday) at 12:00. You are all warmly welcomed to the Tampere parkrun start location to meet him in person and have a little chat with the guy who started it all.
- Next week is the end of the school year and volunteers are desperately needed. If you can join and volunteer next week it would be very much appreciated.
What else is there to say but if you are a Liverpool fan we feel your pain. Hopefully you can forgive Loris Karius. Joining parkrun will definitely make you feel better!
