All is well that ends well. First times are always interesting, so was this. It was the end of school season and a start of school summer holiday so this meant that there were less than usual number of participants and available volunteers. But that is no reason to cancel the event. Instead this will be a fine opportunity to train a new batch of volunteers.
We also had a twice tourist, he was at the first Tampere parkrun and decided to come run with us again. There were problems, like phones deciding not to record video, but this too was an opportunity to learn. Next time it will be better, as it always is, and hopefully by then we have a videos and photos to prove it.

This week 36 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 6 were first timers and 9 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 5 different clubs took part.

The male record is held by Mikko EEROLA who recorded a time of 17:08 on 5th May 2018 (event number 29).
The Age Grade course record is held by Heidi HAAPASALO who recorded 81.66% (19:38) on 14th October 2017 (event number 1).
Tampere parkrun started on 14th October 2017. Since then 477 participants have completed 1,555 parkruns covering a total distance of 7,775 km, including 329 new Personal Bests.
