Lauantai 1.9.2018 Tampere parkrun #46

Lauantaiaamu koitti aurinkoisena säätiedotuksen lupaamasta sateesta huolimatta, joten olimme enemmän kuin iloisia liittyessämme Ratinanpuiston sini-valkoiseen ja sini-keltaiseen kävijäjoukkoon. Syynä epätavalliseen liikehdintään oli Suomi-Ruotsi maaottelu, minkä vuoksi puistossa näkyi useita ihmisiä juoksemassa, kävelemässä, venyttelemässä tai hyppimässä hymy huulillaan. Kuularingin harjoituspaikalta saimme esimakua tulevasta kisasta. Lisäväriä puistoon toi toisen naapurimaamme edustaja, kun Dimitri Krasjukov tuli turistimatkalle Tampereen parkruniin.

Aprikoosin värinen vilahdus oli puolestaan David Asker, joka käväisi pikaisesti juoksaisemassa 5km kiirehtien heti takaisin rautatieasemalle. David kuitenkin osallistui vapaaehtoisena ja kirjoitti meille raportin lauantain juoksusta.

Saturday morning broke sunny instead of the promised autumn rain, so we were more than happy to join the white-blue and yellow-blue colours in Ratinanniemi. The reason for these running, jumping, stretching, pushing and smiling people was the annual Finland-Sweden match, this year taking place in Tampere. More colours we got from our parkrun tourists as another neighbor, Дмитрий КРАСЮКОВ, Dimitri Krasjukov, came from Moscow just for our 5km.
The flying, apricot colour flash was David Asker, running 5km and headed back to the railway station in great time. David was volunteering as a run report writer. Thank you, David, for your visit and the report!
David’s report: Saturday the 1st of September
The Saturday morning of a parkrun tourist is always an early one and this Saturday was extra special
Having been able to add Finland to my holiday schedule and more importantly a Saturday my mind was gathering excitement!
The anticipation of the Tampere parkrun was alive!
The 6am alarm clock was set and an early night was not had! It’s a holiday after all!
The train from Helsinki to Tampere was smooth and efficient (UK trains take note!) and I arrived with plenty of time for the short walk from the station to the parkrun
The parkrun itself starts and ends by the river and is situated next to the Athletics track too.
The Race Director welcomed all parkrunners and it was clear she had two over seas tourists to welcome - myself and a Russian parkrunner - another great adventure
The course itself was well sign posted and took you along the river and the scenes were glorious,
It was lovely too see so many people running, jogging , walking the parkrun as it was a beautiful day.
As ever a massive thank you to the volunteers who regularly give up there time for the participants.
With barcode scanned and photo taken it was back on the train back to Helsinki,
A must parkrun for anyone to try and fall in love with-
I hope to return one day
